News Headline France Line plants 20 trees in Africa!
We recently became supporter of the charity Tree Aid and France Line’s donation resulted in 20 trees being planted by local communities, including children, in the drylands of Africa. We have chosen to work with Tree Aid as a way to offset the carbon footprint we generate transporting industrial cargo from the UK to France.
We were impressed by Tree Aid’s work as they are helping improve the environment whilst enabling communities in the Sahel of Africa to fight poverty and become self-reliant. Their concept of simultaneously helping improve people’s lives and the environment appealed to us strongly.
We are of course also committed to recycling and we are always looking for ways to reduce our use of paper and do more via e-mail.
We also support the fact that more and more transport magazines have opted for on-line versions. Apart from the fact that the cost for advertising online is lower than offline, the change also benefits the environment and we are saving money whilst supporting something that fits in with our green outlook.
Our recent donation to Tree Aid is not a one-off; we intend to carry on supporting the UK's only forestry focused development charity in the future. In fact, we have already pledged to be generous again at Christmas time, and will donate the money that we will save by sending e-card to all our customers, suppliers and contacts again this year, rather than a paper card.
We know that a lot of our customers also try to contribute to a better environment and now they can also work with us knowing we try and do our share!
